Community Outreach Success in Central Province

The Need

Many remote villages in the Central Province lack access to basic services. Health clinics are hours away, legal awareness is low, and financial literacy is almost non‑existent. These gaps deepen poverty and social exclusion, particularly among women and elderly residents.

Our Outreach Model

Launched in late 2023, our mobile outreach programme visits 10 villages each month, offering a “one‑stop” service hub:

• Health camps: Free check‑ups for blood pressure, diabetes, and vision, with referrals to secondary care.
• Legal aid: Volunteer lawyers provide advice on land rights, inheritance, and domestic violence.
• Financial literacy workshops: Practical sessions on saving, budgeting, and accessing government grants.
• Digital literacy: Introduction to mobile banking and government service portals.

Success Metrics

Over the past year, we have:

• Conducted 120 outreach events serving 8,700 individuals.
• Detected 340 cases of hypertension and 112 cases of diabetes, all of which received follow‑up care.
• Helped 260 families secure land titles or resolve property disputes.
• Enabled 450 participants to open their first savings accounts.
• Trained 80 village health and legal volunteers to continue the work between visits.

Community Ownership

The programme now has three local committees that help plan outreach schedules, mobilize participants, and follow up on cases. This ensures continuity and builds trust.
