Celebrating Academic Excellence: Kingswood College '92 Batch University Achievement Awards
Honoring the first two recipients of the AFT Kids & Elders University Achievement Award at a special ceremony in Kandy.
A Milestone Celebration
On July 25, 2026, the AFT Kids & Elders Foundation hosted a special ceremony at the Radisson Hotel, Kandy, to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of the children of the Kingswood College ‘92 Batch. This occasion marked a significant milestone as we proudly presented the first-ever AFT Kids & Elders University Achievement Awards to two exceptional recipients.
Recognizing Excellence
The University Achievement Award, carrying a grant of Rs. 25,000 per recipient, is presented to children of Kingswood College 1992 Batch members who are enrolled in undergraduate degree programs at Sri Lankan government universities. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting educational excellence and honoring the legacy of the Kingswood College community.
“We are delighted to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of our Kingswood College ‘92 Batch children and sincerely thank you for giving us the opportunity to celebrate this important milestone. We also deeply appreciate your gracious acceptance of this award and are especially honored that you are the first two recipients of the AFT Kids & Elders University Achievement Award.” – AFT Kids & Elders Foundation
A Message of Inspiration
During the ceremony, recipients were encouraged to view this recognition not merely as an award but as a call to action:
“We hope this recognition not only celebrates your hard work and dedication but also inspires you to continue pursuing excellence while uplifting others through knowledge, compassion, and service.”
The foundation extended a warm invitation to the awardees:
“I warmly invite each of you to join us in this mission. Together, let us use our knowledge, talents, and compassion to create opportunities for those in need and build a future where every child can thrive and every elderly person is treated with dignity.”
A Vision for Progress
Sumith A. Kularatne, reflecting on the foundation’s guiding philosophy, shared these powerful words:
“True progress is measured not only by individual achievements, academic success, or personal wealth, but by how we uplift one another and create opportunities for those who have been left behind.” – Sumith A. Kularatne
